Letter from Our Founder
Dear Friends,
As we embark on our eleventh year of providing support and hope to women's cancers survivors, The Libby Ross Breast Cancer Foundation has seen a tremendous response to our efforts. With the help and support from our corporate sponsors, individual donors, and amazing volunteers, we have been able to raise awareness about breast cancer and its devastating effects, touched many women directly through our programs, and spread the word about the Foundation’s efforts to help fight this disease through our Libby Ross community.
The more we learn about breast cancer, the more we appreciate how vital support services are to a woman, her family, circle of friends, and loved ones. Through our yoga and wellness events and New York outreach services, we will continue to strive to be the forerunner in support services for women's cancers survivors.
The Foundation’s Pose for Pink Yoga Program is providing new ways of giving women a unique outlook on their diagnoses with the power and practice of yoga. We have helped women on a national level through our Three-Day Yoga Retreats and weekly classes that have been held in New York, California, South Carolina, and Alabama. We will begin providing free classes to women cancers survivors in Columbia, South Carolina; New Jersey; California; and New York in 2010–2011 in efforts to expand our programs and their reach nationwide.
The Pink Ribbon Kit Program continues to enhance the lives of those afflicted with breast cancer by showing patients comfort and support. To date we have given more than 3,000 gift bags of comfort items and self-help tools to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. We continue to provide funding toward research and early detection to the South Carolina Comprehensive Breast Center.
The generosity of our long-term partners such Swarovski North America, Kimara Ahnert, and It’s About Eve enable us to continue to prosper. Their help in promoting The Libby Ross Breast Cancer Foundation on a national level will be instrumental to our growth in the coming years.
